Licensed Massage Therapy Policies

18 Years of Age or Older

The client understands that to book an appointment they must be at least 18 years of age. If the client has a minor who would like to receive a massage, they must first discuss with the practitioner the expectations and file a "Minor Consent Form" before the minor is seen for service.

Zero Tolerance Policy

There will be an investigation and action upon any complaints and information received dealing with allegations of sexual abuse and other forms of abuse of a client (or professional) in an effective, timely, and sensitive manner.

Forms of Abuse: Verbal, Physical, Emotional, Financial, and Sexual

There will be Zero Tolerance of any of the listed abuses and authorities will be notified -- services will cease, and the client will be trespassed

No Communications Policy

Must provide at least 24-hours notice if needing to change, reschedule or cancel their allotted appointment. If past the 24-hours advance notice, the client within that session time will be charged a fee of 50% of the session. If the client fails to arrive and keep their appointment on-time (no-call/no-show/lost communication at the time the session begins), the client within that session time will be charged a fee of 100% of the session.

Sensitive Areas Consent

The client discussed areas of work on their personal bodies with the practitioner about their comfort levels/zones. The client understands draping appropriately is required by law and the client may undress to their comfort level to best fulfill the session for personal health/wellness goals.

Enhancements Awareness Policy

The use of extra tools (such as hot stones, cupping, etc.) are meant to enhance the session to help direct and manipulate the body more intently to achieve goals per client per session. They are not meant to treat, cure, or diagnose any client since it is outside the scope of practice in massage therapy. The client needs to be aware of any contraindications or any acute pains, strains, or injuries on their body immediately before starting the use of any enhancements.

Massage Therapy w/ Client Consent

It is the client's choice to receive massage therapy, and they are aware of the benefits and risks involved during the massage therapy session. The client will give consent to proceed with the massage session and not be under duress. The client understands that there is no implied or stated guarantee of success of effectiveness of individual techniques or series of appointments. The client acknowledges that massage therapy is not a substitute for medical care, medical examination, or diagnosis. The client has stated all medical conditions that they are aware of and will inform the practitioner of any changes in their health status.

Three Strikes Policy

- Each client has 'three strikes' that can be used with consistent rescheduling or canceling appointments. These rescheduling and cancellations include emergencies or any instance where there was no 24-hour notice and/or no information documented stating there will be a change to the appointment in a timely manner.

- 'Three strikes' will be null and void for any sexuality or types of abuse against the professional and will no longer be allowed to schedule with the business.

- 'Three strikes' will be null and void for any no calls or no shows and will be promptly removed from the schedule and may not be allowed to reschedule with the business.
